Rose Haggar Elementary School 2015-2016
Mrs. Jensen works with students on being "social detectives." They were asked to define what it means to be a friend, as well as appropriate behavior during a conversation, such as making eye contact and body language.
5th graders participated in an Ellis Island simulation. They took part in experiences that immigrants would have faced when coming to America.
Students in Ms. Craig and Mr. Peri's math classes apply the financial literacy skills they're learning about in math with real world responsibilities. They were given an occupation and family situation, and through a task called "Life's Little Surprises" had to budget, find their yearly and monthly income, and learn about gross income.
