Activities This Week

ALL intramurals are cancelled for Monday, October 3rd. Once again, ALL intramurals are cancelled for Monday, October 3rd

Attention anyone interested in cheerleading! Cheer tryouts will start in a few weeks. The cheer clinic will be on Tuesday, Oct 18 and the tryout will be on Thursday, Oct 20. You must attend both events to tryout. Please make sure you have an updated physical in the office before tryouts. Make sure to join the Tryout Google Classroom for updates. Posters with the classroom code are located around the building. Email Ms. Wagner with any questions.

We still had a few students stay after school, and not let their parents know they were staying. Students, please check in with your parents the night before. If you forget to communicate with your parents, please ask your teacher to use a classroom phone to let your parent know or come down to the office.

Additionally, please know that attendance at away District 15 sporting events is only allowed with the presence of an adult. We also encourage adult chaperones at Palatine HS events, including football games.

Expectations at Sporting Events

Attending Winston Campus home sporting events means you are expected to cheer respectfully. To do so, we…

  • Cheer for our team at appropriate times and are quiet at appropriate times, including when someone is injured and during free throws
  • Use school-appropriate language
  • Don’t say anything to the refs - good or bad
  • No Cell phones Allowed - used with supervisor permission only.

  • Make Winston proud; the choices you make should support our teams, but it should do so positively.

  • Follow directions given to you by staff supervisors.
  • Walk up/down the bleachers and remain seated once you are there.
  • If you need to leave the bleachers to go to the bathroom or to leave for the day, please do it during a break in play with permission from a supervisor. Please stay away from the area of play.

If you have any questions during the event, please ask a supervisor!

Moving D15 Forward

The District 15 Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution to place a bond referendum on the November 8, 2022 ballot. Doing so will allow the District to repair and restore our facilities, bring full-day kindergarten to all elementary schools, update schools libraries and some learning spaces, and ensure feeder patterns from elementary to junior high and high school providing all student access to a neighborhood or near neighborhood school. To learn even more about the proposed improvements visit www.ccsd15.net/Moving15Forward.

District 15 will be hosting informational meetings on the following dates:

  • October 6 - Thomas Jefferson Elementary School (Thomas Jefferson Middle School if the measure is approved)

  • October 11 - Winston Campus Junior High

  • October 13 - Plum Grove Junior High

  • October 20 - Carl Sandburg Junior High

  • October 25 - Walter R. Sundling Junior High
