UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN ENDS Tuesday, December 4th
This is a WONDERFUL opportunity for us to give back as we approach the "season of giving."
United Way is an non-profit organization that partners with several non-profit organizations in our area. When you make a donation, you are able to designate where it goes based on the different organizations listed and your preference. If you decide not to make a designated donation, your donation will be evenly divided amongst other organizations.
Last year, our campus raised $2,183. Our goal this year is $2,400,
Deadline: NEXT TUESDAY, December 4th to reach this goal!
So, what do we earn if we reach our goal?!
If we get to our goal this year.....
WE WILL GET A WEEK OF JEANS!
HOW DO YOU DO IT?
You can pay using the payroll deduction system! Payroll deductions start in March and go through September! So, it won't interfere with your Christmas Budget at all! How awesome is that?!
https://integration.nisd.net/Partnerships/UnitedWay/Donate#
Here is the link to donate online through payroll deduction. You can ONLY do this from a Northside Computer!
Team Grant Applications Due: Thursday, February 7th by 4:30 p.m.
Please Note: The system automatically closes at 4:30 p.m. sharp. If you are working on an application in the system and try to submit at or after 4:30 p.m., the system will lock you out.
To be eligible to apply for this grant, the Team Captain (applicant) must attend one of four training sessions offered in December and January. However, applicants who have completed a Team grant training session within the previous two years are NOT required to attend the 2018-2019 Team grant training. To determine if you meet the training exemption requirement, please check the list of “Previous Training Attendees” on the Grants and Recognitions Department’s Employee Connections website at: 2018-2019 Team Grant Resources or contact the Grants and Recognitions Department.
There are several resources to help you on the Grants and Recognitions Department's Employee Connections website: 2018-2019 Team Grant Resources such as: 2017-2018 Awarded Team Grant Applications, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document, and many more items.

Shout out to Nancy Kilborn for creating a plethora of math materials for use with our EL students!!! After our faculty learning on Tuesday, she created sentence stems, word banks, visuals, and guiding questions. Thank you, Nancy, for embracing the idea of "what is learned here, leaves here!”

Congratulations to this week's Superhero of the Week, Mrs. Kilborn. She does so much for our staff, including behind the scenes. She is the absolute best with her students who need the extra help with math. Additionally she brings treats (those fall cookies were awesome), and most importantly she does it all with a smile on her face.
