Module 2 Overview

English IV

“He who thinks he knows, doesn’t know. He who knows that he doesn’t know, knows. For in this context, to know is not to know. And not to know is to know.” ~Joseph Campbell

Unit: The Epic Hero (Beowulf & Arthurian Legends)

This unit is made up of two modules. It will examine two pillars of early British Literature: Beowulf and The Legends of King Arthur. We will be looking at these texts both within their historical context and through a modern lens. We will also closely study the characters of these historical works.
