Interactive Math Journal Example
Helpful Hints for Interactive Journals
- Use tabs to identify different units of study
- Glue a large manilla envelope in the back to hold tools (paper ruler, protractors, etc.)
- Tape a piece of yarn to the spine of the journal that can be used as a book mark.
- Use color coding for new information or something already known
- Use glue sticks and not bottles... less mess!
- Use a brad to make movable parts (clock hands, rotating shapes, create angles, etc.)
- Glue QR codes onto pages to allow digital links
- Put tools that are always used in the cover (100s chart, ten frame, etc.)
- Glue a CD paper case into the journal to have a pocket with a window
- Glue envelopes on pages to store items (digit cards, vocabulary cards, etc.)
