A Message from Our Principal
Our seventh graders led the school in praying the Holy Rosary this morning. Everyone did a wonderful job.
Thursday, September 6, first Thursday of the month, we will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Adoration is honoring the Eucharistic presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it includes “the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ present before us.” Please join us for Mass on Thursday as Father Hoa, our Pastor, will lead us in the Benediction before moving the Blessed Sacrament to the Chapel.
During Adoration, we remain silent in Christ’s presence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist. By doing this, we become what God wants us to be! Some say that in its fullest essence, Eucharistic Adoration is “God and Man reaching out for each other, at the same time”
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Maureen Wetmore as our new third grade teacher. Mrs. Wetmore comes to us with 28 years of teaching in Catholic Schools. Most recently, she taught at St. Maria Goretti in Arlington. I was very impressed with the third grade students who have welcomed Mrs. Wetmore and helping her be a part of the family.
IOWA Assessment: Next week, first through eighth graders will be taking the Iowa Assessments®. Information about your child’s academic achievement is needed to help them excel and succeed. The Iowa Assessments make this possible by providing detailed information about your child in a variety of important content areas including Reading, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
The Iowa Assessments measure student growth and progress from year to year. The Iowa Assessments help teachers identify a student’s strengths and identify areas that may need additional emphasis. The assessments produce information that enable sound decision making and provide a focus for teachers to evaluate their instruction.
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve
