The 2021-2022 Linwood E. Howe Boosters Pledge Drive is underway!
The 2021-2022 Linwood E. Howe Boosters Pledge Drive is underway!
The Boosters is our school’s very own dedicated non-profit, committed to supporting and enhancing the Lin Howe student experience with programs and support staff that CCUSD isn’t able to fund on its own. The Boosters funds Instructional Aides and enrichment programs such as: Green Team, Growing Great, Arts Outreach, Spanish and Math Olympiad. Over the past 13 years, the Boosters have done so much to support and boost our students!
As our kids return to campus, some for the first time in almost a year and a half, now more than ever, we need your help to ensure that ALL Lin Howe students get the support they need. Perhaps most crucially, our four Instructional Aides will be critical as our teachers ensure that all students are where they need to be.
Our goal this year is to raise $100,000! Funding four instructional aides alone will take approximately $92,000 this year. We don't know what the Boosters Spring Auction will look like this year, so your tax-deductible donation during the pledge drive is even more important.
We know these continue to be challenging times for everyone and we don’t take this request for monetary support lightly. If you are in a position to give, we hope you will help us give all our students the boost they need this year. If we all give what we can, ALL our Lin Howe students will have what they need to succeed!
Click HERE to donate or visit https://www.linhoweboosters.com/donate.
Thank you so much for supporting the Boosters. We're all in this together!
Looking for a way to Volunteer at Lin Howe?
Looking for a way to Volunteer at Lin Howe? We need help from everyone! The PTA is seeking folks to help with any of the following:
Backpacks Program-Distribution of weekend food for students in need
Apex Fun Run-our only PTA fundraiser for the year! Takes place in the fall and is a once-a-year commitment.
Yearbook Committee-help format and get that thing printed at the end of the year!
Talent Show-Takes Place in January. Also a once-a-year commitment.
The Dragon Wagon-our weekly Walking Schoolbus (formerly known as Hiking Vikings). Mostly involves showing up 10-15 minutes early one Friday a week (could be less depending on # of volunteers). We especially are in need of adults who live East of Lin Howe.
Translation Team-Can you speak and write in Spanish? Occasionally we need help translating documents for Spanish-speaking families. Minimal time-commitment.
Box Tops for Education
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Hi and welcome to the new school year! My name is Beth Lulu and I am the volunteer Box Tops Coordinator for Linwood Howe. The Box Tops program is an easy way to earn money for our school!
In the past, parents and kids alike could clip Box Tops from their favorite products to earn money. However, starting in 2020, the Box Tops Program became completely digital. Here’s the scoop….
How do we go Digital?
1. Download the Box Tops for Education App
2. Create an account and add Linwood E. Howe Elementary as your school
3. Buy Box Tops Products (look for the logo!)
4. Scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase
5. The money automatically goes to our school!
Can we still turn in clipped Box Tops?
No, unfortunately. The physical box tops have been phased out of production and they stopped accepting them on November 1st, 2020.
Any other ways to help?
* Sign Up – Sign up to support our school at boxtops4education.com, where you can:
• See how much our school is earning with Box Tops.
• Enter online promotions for chances to win eBoxTops and other prizes.
• Print coupons for your favorite Box Tops brands (there are SO many coupons and some are pretty great and worth checking out!)
You can also sign up for Box Tops email newsletters that will keep you updated on the program and provide more opportunities to earn extra box tops. To learn more, visit boxtops4education.com. Thanks for choosing to make a difference for our school with Box Tops!
Sincerely,
Beth Lulu

Culver City Bus Transportation Information
Welcome aboard!
Culver CityBus has launched a new pilot program for students in Culver City Unified schools to help kids ride transit for free. We are partnering with CCUSD to offer students unlimited rides at no cost on Culver CityBus, LA Metro bus and rail, and LADOT Dash. Additional transit agencies are being added, so visit Culvercitybus.com for the latest updates.
Using the TAP card provided, students can ride for free to and from school, on trips after school and on weekends, now through June 30, 2022. If your student is already part of the TAP K-12 Reduced Fare program, they will need to pick up a new Fareless K-12 card from their school and register it prior to use.
