About GELF
GELF was founded in 2008 when several generous Newton community members made it possible for two students to join the Prague Summer Program.
GELF’s mission is to assure that school travel programs are accessible and affordable for all Newton high schoolers.
Since its inception, GELF has awarded 270 low-income students a total of $465,000 in grants for international travel.
Every student who receives a GELF award is also paired with a faculty or staff mentor who will ensure they have the resources they need to be successful.
GELF is a registered 501(c)3 organization that is completely volunteer run. Almost 100% of your tax deductible donation goes towards travel awards.
