Tyngsborough Elementary School

August 27, 2020

Dear TES Families,

For our returning families welcome back and a warm welcome to our new families. While we know this school year is going to be different, we strongly believe that it will be a great school year.

"Let's give the school year the opportunity to be awesome. Don't throw a label or judgment on it before it begins. It may just surprise us in big, beautiful ways."

This will be the first of many informative “email blasts” that families will receive throughout the year. Over the next two weeks, we will share details regarding our arrival/dismissal process, transportation, and grade level daily schedules. We appreciate your patience as we finalize all of these important operational plans.

K-5 Teacher Assignment

Yesterday, you should have received your child's classroom teacher assignment via email. If for any reason you did not receive this, please contact the main office. Next week, families can expect communication from their child's teacher. Fostering connections prior September 14th, will be incredibly important.

K-5 School Supplies & Chromebooks

This year, every student will receive an individual student supply kit with all of the necessary items they will need for in person and/or remote learning. It is our intention to distribute these kits and chromebooks during the Meet the Teacher Day (see attached PDFs for details).

#MaskUpTES

When used consistently and in combination, some of the most effective preventative measures to mitigate the transmission of the COVID-19 virus are masks/face coverings, physical distancing, handwashing, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces. The following preventative measures will be in place during the implementation of the modified in-person model.

Masks/Face Coverings
● All students are required to wear a mask/face covering. All adults are required to wear a mask/face covering.
● Alternative options or exceptions may be provided/made for those whom it is not possible due to medical concerns, disability impact, or other health or safety factors
● Mask/face coverings are required to be worn by everyone on the school bus.
● Mask breaks should occur throughout the day at times when a distance of six feet can be maintained and ideally will occur outside when possible.
● Masks/face coverings should be provided by the family. Disposable masks will be made available by the school in the event that a person is in need of a mask during the school day.
