Thank you to everyone who took the time to save, cut out, and send box tops. You are appreciated! The earnings allows the school to purchase needed items!
Ever have the feeling...
...the words spoken had a totally different meaning than originally meant? Wonder why students broke out in laughter? Feeling old because you just don't get it? The secret: Pretend like you know. Smirk and move on. THEN check the urban dictionary and see if your suspicions were right. According to Wiki, the urban dictionary "is a crowdsourced online dictionary of slang words and phrases that was founded in 1999 as a parody of Dictionary.com and Vocabulary.com by then-college freshman Aaron Peckham."
It is not for the easily offended or faint of heart, but sometimes you just gotta go there. Knowledge is power.
Book Swap
FCCLA had albums out showing their many accomplishments and hard work. For a fundraiser, they sold suckers, candy bars, and t-shirts. For those in need, diapers donated from the Austin Diaper Bank were set out.
4H sponsored a fishing booth with prizes and were available to discuss any questions for those interested in joining. Looks like a fun group!
Project Celebration 2017 knows the importance of education, zen art, and fondness for sugar. A bowl of lollipops were set out with a sign stating "Don't be dum dums, don't drink and drive". Color sheets with information about the effects of alcohol and drugs, along with resources for more information, were placed on back of the pages making it a great take home item.
Mr. Holubec was also there with a project board showcasing his students work. Ag students are vital to the production of our future's food source. The knowledge gained can lead them to a path which is increasingly becoming overshadowed. Thank you Mr. Holubec and to the students who choose to continue in this field after high school.
And, of course, there were books! No one needed to walk away empty handed. Thank you to all who participated!

Shout out!

You got this! Encouraging quote to recall when ready to give up:
"Always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." ~ Carter Crocker
Did you know?
The abbreviation imho on the internet means "in my humble opinion"?

Remember students...
PARENTS: Please ask your student if they have obligations. They tend to lose notices and get too busy to remember. Thank you for your understanding!
