Conferences: Thank You
I want to thank all parents for involving students in this fall's conference. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to set goals with the cooperation of students, families, and teachers. The feedback I received from students was overwhelmingly positive as conferences became somewhat demystified and they better understood their role in achieving their growth potential. I understand that this new conference format represented a shift for many of us, and greatly appreciate all your efforts to make this experience a positive one. Thank you.

Please continue to ask your students about our read aloud and track some of our communication on Twitter.
Birchview Bobcat Fun Run!!!
The Birchview Bobcat Fun Run is a great way for our PTA to raise much needed money to fund field trips, assemblies, playground enhancements and more. During the school day on Friday, October 30th, students and teachers will walk, run, skip--whatever they like--around the Bobcat track for 30 minutes. This event is about Birchview spirit, health/wellness and raising money for our wonderful school. For more information, click here.

Pumpkin Math
I'm looking for volunteers to help facilitate PUMPKIN MATH on Friday, October 30th in our classroom. During this fun activity, we improve our measuring and estimation skills by investigating 4 different properties of pumpkins. If you'd like to come into our class to volunteer, please save the date. Due to the Fun Run that is scheduled on the same day, I am not able to commit to an event time at this point. However, I'm hoping it will take place in the morning from 9:20 - 10:20am.
I will also be looking for 7 medium to large pumpkins to be donated to the class. They will be weighed, measured, scooped out, and seeds counted. If you wanted to, you could even have it back for carving after we're done, although I don't think we should send them on the bus!!! :)
If you are able to help out or have a pumpkin to donate we would really appreciate it! Let me know if you can help. Use this link to sign up for to volunteer or bring in supplies: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B4DAEAC2CA3FB6-pumpkin.
Thank you in advance for anyone willing to have fun and get a little messy!
