GRE Staff Newsletter
For the Week of November 26, 2018
Dear Team,
Thank you for your participation in today's professional learning around Responsive Classroom. If you didn't have a chance to check out the resources available on their website, click here to visit and see all the great videos and tools available to you. Hopefully you found things you are already doing or set some goals for things you would like to try. If you wanted to take a closer look at PBIS and Responsive Classroom, you can read the article I referenced today at your leisure. I'll let you know when our book collection arrives so that you can begin to check them out and get some ideas flowing.
I hope you found today meaningful. As always, I appreciate any and all feedback so stop by and chat to share your thoughts!
Let's have a great week at GRE!
Kate
Thank you for an awesome start to Eagle Ed! The kids had a BLAST!
News to Share
1. Believe it or not the December Eagle Ed prep work is here! Eagle Ed will be held December 18th from 2:20-3:20. To help clarify the directions for Eagle Ed, click here for a cheat sheet. The timeline for Eagle Ed is below:
November 26th-December 5th: Teacher Sign Up (Please consider holding a K-4 session as there were not enough spots for our youngest learners because there were more 3-4 sessions than K-4)
December 10th-14th: Student Sign Up (More Information to come)
Remember, all Eagle Ed information can be found in your team drive in the Eagle Ed folder created by Angie. If you have questions, please make sure you reach out to our amazing Related Arts team.
2. Thank you for all your help with the Book Fair-it was a huge success. Consider thanking your families and PTO members for their hard work in facilitating this special event.
PLC Weekly Challenge
This week's PLC challenge is to reflect on our professional learning so far this year. We have worked on Interactive Read Alouds, Student Conferencing and Responsive Classroom. With all of this hard work, I also challenged you at the beginning of the year to come up with one words that you will remember and work on or focus on all year. This week's challenge is to check in with a team member on how you are doing with our work. Are you moving forward? Are you trying new things? Are you overwhelmed? Do you need to step it up to meet your goals? Together problem solve and talk about all that we have accomplished in this first half of the year that will be coming to a close in a few weeks. After your discussion, write a personal note to a team member based on your conversation.
