Dear Penngrove Families,

I am so happy to be back at Penngrove! These first few days have flown, and it is so exciting to witness the learning that is happening here every day. It has also been so fun to reengage with students. Our current 4th through 6th graders were so little when I first met them, now they are the leaders of the school!!

I look forward to the next few months working with such an incredible team and such incredible families! Mrs. Fadeji and I are in communication frequently and that will continue until the baby is born. Please read the message from her below!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Rudder

Dear Parents,

I forgot to include this super important reminder in last week's Penngrove Press so although I am already out on maternity leave, you still get to hear from me! #howlucky

Please note that effective immediately, all adults visiting campus should be masked at all times regardless of vaccination status. This is especially important during morning drop-off if you are a parent who comes onto campus. As you know, we expect all students to arrive on campus with their masks on. Thank you in advance for following these same protocols.

While some schools in the area are currently not allowing parents on campus at all, we enjoy the morning drop-off to be an option for our families to connect with the campus. In order to continue offering this to families, we appreciate your compliance in wearing a mask at all times on campus, even outdoors. Thank you for not congregating on campus and for being so thoughtful! We really appreciate you keeping our campus as safe as possible.

Warmly,

Mrs. Fadeji

Meet Mrs. Sarah!

Sarah Koenig is our newest playground supervisor and crossing guard. While growing up in Sonoma County, Sarah remembers driving by Penngrove School and admiring the panther totem pole on the corner of Adobe and Petaluma Hill. Now she is a proud parent of four Penngrove Panthers! In her free time, she helps exercise horses at a local stable, she enjoys being with her family, hiking with their llamas, gardening, reading, and camping. Mrs. Sarah is honored to be a part of #TeamPenn and is so excited to be able to help make morning street crossing safer and lunch recess fun for all!

Welcome to #TeamPenn, Mrs. Sarah!

Meet Mr. E!

Josh Erickson is a Penngrove parent and very excited to be one half of the student advisor team.

As an owner of Full Circle Bakery (with his wife of 25 years) and a 13 year Army veteran, Mr. E knows how to guide constructive resolutions and match personalities to promote teamwork and friendship.

For the past 7 years, Mr. E and Mrs. Norman have worked together on countless school functions and understand how to bring the best out of every opportunity.

If Mr. E had free time he would enjoy family time taking hikes, doing pushups, gardening (apples, artichokes, pomegranates, and pumpkins), playing video games, and watching the 49ers, Giants, and WWE.

Welcome to #TeamPenn, Mr. E!

When are you tardy? Great question! If your child’s feet are not in their classroom by 8:06 for kindergarten and 8:21 for first through sixth grade you are tardy.

Pro tip… once you are next to a yellow curb in the drop off line have your child hop out! Sometimes they can walk faster than the line moves :)

The PCS Online Independent Study Program allows students to work remotely from home with guidance from teachers. The program is available for Petaluma City Schools students in all grade levels.

Students in the PCS Online Independent Study Program receive both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, Monday through Friday; however, students will complete most assignments independently. This program is designed to provide rigorous high-quality instruction.

Additionally, students will have the option to participate in on-campus events at the school that is associated with their Online Independent Study Program (see the list below).

The Online Independent Study Program will be associated with the following schools:

  • TK-6: Valley Vista
  • 7-8: Petaluma Jr. High
