Congratulations to the Nipmuc Drama Guild
Congratulations to the Nipmuc Drama Guild and Drama Director Tam Johnson on a very successful spring musical. “Beauty and the Beast” performed four shows this weekend to audiences of all ages. It was awesome to see little ones in little yellow “Belle” dresses and one in a full “Beast” costume! Regardless of age, audience members were awed by the gorgeous voices under the direction of Nipmuc’s own Musical Director, Whitney Simmonds, who worked tirelessly and taught harmonious choruses that were the talk of the audiences during intermission. The cast members including seniors, Sam Mayo, Josie Delongchamp, Mia Prentiss, Megan St. Jean, and Mallory Chace, dazzled the audiences with their voices, their dancing, and their overall performances! The sets, painted by the talented crew with help from the wonderful parent volunteers, gave the audience a real sense of where they were at all times. A special thanks to parent Dave Thompson for engineering the rotating disks that allowed the sets to turn in seconds! Props were created by parents and costumes were sewn by Nipmuc science teacher, Elina Barrows. This truly was a massive undertaking created by a community that came together and made it happen! Thank you to all and we hope that everyone who came out enjoyed the show!
Congratulations to Reham Harrati and Sofia Geremia
As DECA state officers, Reham and Sofia were voted into the position by their peers across the state. They campaigned for the role at the state competition and became one of only 5-8 students across Massachusetts to take on this leadership role. In their roles, they are responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out every DECA event, meeting, competition, and conference. They plan every facet from speakers to food, programs, workshops, and the budget for these events.
In reflecting on the position, Reham stated "it is a unique role to be given so much responsibility and get to collaborate with state representatives and the board of directors." It was exciting to see Reham pass the leadership torch to Sofia, maintaining the role of Nipmuc leadership in Massachusetts DECA. Other Nipmuc students to hold this important leadership role include graduates Walker Penfield (Class of 2021) and John Dacey (Class of 2019).
Congratulations to our leaders!
