Dear QSI Skopje Community,
It was a great week at QSI Skopje! Our MUN Club did an excellent job representing our school at their first virtual conference last weekend. We are proud of their hard work and dedication to preparing for this event. Way to go, QSI Skopje Delegates!
Please be reminded that we have two short weeks in a row. There is no school for students on November 18th-19th for teacher professional development. There is no school on November 25th-26th for the November holiday.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Thanks,
Heather

QSI Skopje Handbooks
The student and parent handbook is still a work in progress, but some sections have been updated. We want parents and students to be informed about particular policies as we update them. Please see the QSI Academic Honesty Policy attached below about plagiarism and cheating.
Benefits of Learning to Play an Instrument
Through the practice of imitation, exploration, improvisation, and composition, students learn what music is by performing. Here at QSI Skopje, our Music program offers our students the chance to explore and learn different instruments. We formed class bands in all classes from 11YOC through Secondary, and these couple of months, our students practiced hard to prepare a program for the Winter Show.
What are some benefits of playing an instrument? The instrument opens a door to completely new worlds for our students. It lets them try things, experiment, and simply do something unknown and unprecedented. Musicians must be considerate of each other and listen to one another.
If children learn to play an instrument, they will overcome small, and later larger, obstacles with more ease. With each new learning progress, they remove a hurdle from their path. Gradually they get better and better at problem-solving and soon they can do something that not everyone can do. This strengthens their self-confidence and makes them strong, mentally, even in non-musical situations.
