Please see the links below for resources you may find helpful as you discuss your child(ren)'s course selections for next school year. Please plan to attend the Parent University on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 starting at 6:30 pm. More information about this informative program can be viewed below.
There will be four parent open sessions to visit with a counselor. Counselors will be prepared to answer questions about courses and options. Counselors will not be holding individual family meetings as course selection and long term planning are a personal family decision. Counselors will meet with each student individually during the month of February to verify course selections.
HELPFUL HINTS
Please clearly print your LAST NAME and then your FIRST NAME on your Registration Planning Sheet that will be turned in next week.
Corrections
Principles of Bus, Mark, Finance-Dual Credit (BUSI 1301) IS NOT A COURSE OFFERED AT FMHS. This is an error on the Campus Elective Page. This course is not a Flower Mound HS course. We are sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Parent University: College of Academic Success
The evening will start with a 25 minute general session in the cafeteria led by the FMHS counselors. Parents will then select four of nine session topics to attend. There will be four sessions. Each session will be 25 minutes long with a 5-minute passing period.
COLLEGE OF ACADEMIC SUCCESS SESSION TOPICS
1. Making the Grade: Academic and Emotional Success
2. Virtual Learning Academy (VLA): Information about the districts online course options will be shared
3. Dual Credit: Learn about potential opportunities to earn both high school and college credit
4. Career Center Courses: Learn more about our Career Centers and their course offerings
5. Math Track: Information about the various math pathways to follow in high school
6. Regular VS Pre AP/AP: Learn about the differences in the course levels and what is right for your child.
7. Blended Courses: Information on Blended courses and if this is good choice for your child.
8. GT Course options: Information on the differences in Pre AP/AP courses and GT Pre AP/AP.
9. Choices 360: Learn more about the Choices 360 computer program students have access to in their LHUB.
Our Mission: The mission of the FMHS Parent University program is to provide FMHS/FM9 parents and caregivers training, resources, and access to skills and services which grow, achieve, and empower greater levels of advocacy for children, schools, and community.
Our purpose: To provide families access to knowledge relating to student learning, the workings of our school system, and skills in advocacy and educational support.
