Angels After Hours

Parents of Angels After Hours students, please use the PikMyKid app to announce your arrival just as you would do for dismissal time and pull up to the front of the building. Someone from Angels will walk your child out to your car.

Lunch and Recess Duty help needed!

We are in need of some volunteers this week and for the month of September! Please sign up here: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/96071646063/false#/invitation

As a reminder, 2 Lunch Duties (1 in the Fall and 1 in the Spring) and 2 Recess Duties (1 in the Fall and 1 in the Spring) are required of each family.

JV Soccer Coach needed

Attention parents! We are in need of a coach for our JV Soccer team. If you are interested in helping us out, please contact our Athletic Director, Mr. Printy at sprinty@pcapvb.org.

Speech Therapy

If you have any concerns about your child's speech development, and would like him/her to be evaluated for possible speech therapy, please let me know. We work with St. Johns County to provide speech evaluations and services for our students in grades K-8. We can also refer PK students to Child Find.

Yearbooks from last school year

We have a limited number of extra yearbooks from the 2021-2022 school year. If you are interested in purchasing one, please send in this form along with a check for $55 to the front office.

Cell phones and Apple Watches

As a reminder, students are not permitted to have cell phones with them while at school. Students who bring a phone to school must have a Cell Phone Contract signed and submitted to their teacher. All cell phones will be collected by the teachers upon arrival at school. Cell phones cannot be stored in lockers or backpacks.

Students are not permitted to have Apple watches or any watches or devices with internet/texting/camera capabilities at school.

SHARING OF PHOTOS

Parents, if you take pictures of your children at school with other students, please check with the other parents before posting them on social media or sending them to be published. There are several parents who do not want their child's photo on social media or in the media. Thank you for understanding.

Carpool

A few reminders!

Morning Carpool:

When entering the parking lot in the morning, if there is no officer there to guide cars in, PLEASE take turns turning into the lot. We need to have both lines turning in to avoid a back-up on either side of Palm Valley Road.

Please, please, please, pull all the way up close to the car in front of you! This not only helps us unload more cars, but also helps us get more cars off the street.

Afternoon Carpool:
For afternoon carpool, please do not come earlier than your OLDEST child's release time. Middle school parents, your child's last class ends at 3:05 PM. Please do not come prior to that or they will be missing class time and we will have you circle back around the carpool line.

If you arrive early, please do NOT park along the fence. If you need to park please use one of the designated parking spaces in the lot.

Inclement Weather:

During severe weather, we will not be using the holding area, and will only load 6 cars at a time. If your child does not come down in time, you will need to circle back around the school. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we need to keep our students and staff safe at all times. Thank you for understanding.

During times of lightning storms or tornado warnings, we will suspend carpool until it is safe to continue, as we did last Monday.

Our Neighbors:

Please do NOT turn into the neighboring communities or businesses to make a u-turn when you leave our campus! This causes more congestion in the carpool line and can be dangerous. Please continue to A1A to turn around safely. We had someone from the Tabby Building down the street call on Friday saying that someone turned around in their lot and almost hit an employee.

COVID reminders

If your child tests positive for COVID, please notify me immediately via email (ddossantos@pcapvb.org).

Anyone who tests positive must stay at home for 5 full days before returning to school on Day 6, provided that there has been no fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicines and that other symptoms are improving. (Please note that the first day of symptoms is considered Day 0.)

Siblings of positive cases may continue coming to school as long as they are not exhibiting ANY symptoms. Please use good judgement when sending siblings to school based on the amount of exposure they have had with the positive sibling.

Virtues Program

The virtue for September will be FAITH. Faith is believing in God and all he has revealed. Each grade will also focus on a Saint of the Month who exemplified that virtue.

Home projects for September will be sent home later this week by your child's teacher. Please be watching for that information!

Sports Physicals

As a reminder, if your child is trying out or participating in any sports, he/she must have a current sports physical on file. The physical exam needs to be on the Catholic Grade Schools form, performed after June 1, 2022, signed by the doctor and notarized to be valid. If you think your child might be trying out for any sports this year, please have this form completed as soon as possible and submit to the front office.
