We Need You…PTA Executive Board Open Positions
It’s that time of year to get our Executive Board nominated and elected for the 2018-2109 school year. Have you considered getting more involved in the PTA and want to help make a difference at Silver Springs? A position on the Silver Springs Executive Board may be the place for you. This is a great opportunity to learn about the PTA and have an active role in all the things the PTA does for Silver Springs. The positions of President and Secretary will be open for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. If you have a first grader or second grader, this is an especially good time to become involved with the executive board. Child ID Event at Silver Springs!
Skatin Station Family Skating Party
Make sure to mark your calendar for Monday, April 9th at 6:30 PM for our LAST family skating party of the year. This is a BIG one! We hope to get as many students with their family and Silver Springs staff to come skate and have some fun together. Silver Springs PTA will receive $4 per skater. Let’s see how many skaters we can get.
Hope to see lots of skaters for some fun!
After-School Activities Student Pick-Up
We keep the main doors locked for safety. Kids Club families have key fobs so that they are able to come in and sign their student out of the program. Please don't follow someone into the building. Thank you for your understanding in putting student safety first and we appreciate your effort to follow these rules.
Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!
Habit #6: Synergize
What this means: Working together is better. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“I get along well with other people and work well in groups.”
“I value the strengths of others and allow myself to learn from them.”
“I know that working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we could alone.”
“I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems.”
How can I do this in my life?
With your children, choose a problem you may have (like curfew or completing tasks). Use the Synergy Action Plan to summarize your child's solution and your solution: (1) define the problem, (2) share your views, (3) think of solutions, (4) choose the best solution together. See if you can reach a better solution (The High Way) than either of you could come up with alone.
