Meadow Brook Magic
Week 25: February 22-25th
5th Grade Has the Beat

Mustang Monday Message
Mustang Family,
I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! Next weekend you will have another long weekend as there will not be school on Monday the 28th.
Each year, the school and PTA each hold one fundraiser. We are excited that it is time for our annual Literacy Round-Up, in which we hope to promote literacy to collect money for our Leveled Library (these are specialty books teachers use during guided reading) and to purchase technology for our classrooms. We are excited about the many activities we have planned to celebrate literacy! We will have dress up days throughout the week and bedtime stories over Zoom. During the bedtime stories, students will have the opportunity to listen to real authors share their stories over Zoom at 7pm. For more information about these events, see the post below.
In an attempt to celebrate the good work happening in our schools and to identify areas where we can improve, we ask that you complete this anonymous survey. Thank you! Here is the link to the survey: Nebo School District Stakeholder Survey 2020-21. Our survey will close on February 28, 2022.
Thank you all for your incredible support. Best,
Principal Balli
Familia Mustang,
Mejor,
Director Balli

Literacy Round-Up Fundraiser Information
Each year, the school and PTA each hold one fundraiser. We are excited that it is time for our annual Literacy Round-Up, in which we hope to promote literacy to collect money for our Leveled Library (these are specialty books teachers use during guided reading) and to purchase technology for our classrooms.
The first step is to get pledges; the paper on the envelope explains this process. Students will have the opportunity to collect pledges on Feb. 25-27th. We want to keep our students safe by only having them go to family members or people that they trust for pledges. We do not want children going door to door collecting money. The Reading Roundup will take place Feb. 28-Mar. 4. During this time students will track the amount of minutes they read each day on the calendar provided. The minutes will be calculated to determine the amount of money people will donate.
We will be holding an online gift basket auction starting on Wednesday and ending next Tuesday (a link will be sent through email and on social media!). Get excited, we have some fun book themed baskets!
Beginning March 7th , we will begin accepting donations. ALL DONATIONS can be paid by CASH, CHECK (placed in attached envelop), or online in the iCampus Portal under the section “Fees.”
Literacy Bedtime Stories
Due to COVID, we are unable to hold our annual Literacy Night at Meadow Brook. However, we are very excited to announce that we will be replacing this with nightly Bedtime Stories read by the authors themselves. Each night a picture book author and a chapter book author will share their stories through Zoom with anyone that would like to participate. The same Zoom link will be utilized for each session. https://nebo-edu.zoom.us/j/81385705970?pwd=TmR6bGhlQnYreWU2RDFqU0NZTHFzdz09

Safety
- We are working hard to teach students to use the crosswalks. We are concerned about the number of students running across the pick-up lanes and parking lots. If you can help us teach your children about this that would be great!
