Parents as Teachers is a free and voluntary program provided through the LSR7 School District that offers families regular home visits with a certified parent educator focusing on early childhood development and parenting practices.

Conscious Discipline Corner

This months I Love You Ritual is: Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater

Peter, Peter, pumpkin eater (wiggle your booty or twist your waist)

Had a friend he loved to greet (shake hands with child)

Treated her with kind respect (Gently put your left arm on child's right shoulder and demonstrate a kind touch)

And in the morning hugged her neck (gently hug child)

What are I Love You Rituals?

I Love You Rituals are playful, one-on-one interactions that build loving bonds while increasing attention span, decreasing power struggles and promoting language and literacy at school or at home. These brain-building interactions facilitate optimal development for young children and create lifelong bonds between children and adults.
