A Note from the Principal
Hello Wildcats,
Well this fall has been too eventful. We experienced Hurricane Ian and were out of school for a few weeks. We came back to school for seven days using Florida Virtual School so we could ensure the learning and teaching of focused standards during the transition back to our building. Now we are back in our building and we are missing a lot of our roof—yet we do have a tarp to protect us—missing carpet, ceiling tiles, and some drywall. The outside walls are still dirty and stained from the hurricane winds. There is much work to be done, but the contractors have been contacted and are working evenings and weekends. They have taken measurements for new carpet and they have ordered the ceiling tiles. Improvements are coming.
Everything that is being done for the building is out of our control but is moving forward. What IS in our control is how we go about the business of making sure we get the best education possible. So, be sure to complete all assignments your teachers give you. Study for your quizzes and tests. If you see a friend or classmate struggling, help them if you can. You Wildcat students are wonderful students who care about each other and I appreciate you all so much.
Thanksgiving is almost here and we all have much to be thankful for—even those of us who had loss and damage due to the hurricane. We are all Wildcats and we can lean on each other. I am thankful that I get to be with this group of people. I am thankful for your smiles and your kindness.
I am thankful and Proud to be in the Pride,
Mrs. Bennington
