2018-2019 Transportation
WCPSS Transportation is preparing for the next school year. If your child is eligible for transportation:
- Update your bus service needs for the 2018-19 school year, please go online at www.wcpss.net/busrider and let us know.
- If your student is assigned to a bus but is not a bus rider, please submit the decline bus form at www.wcpss.net/declinebus so that we have the most up-to-date information.
- If you need further assistance with bus service, contact your student’s school.
Up-to-date transportation information is available in your student’s Home Base/PowerSchool account. Sign up for an account at your student’s school. More information on Home Base is available at www.wcpss.net/student-information.
Meet our Crew!

Ms. Brown ~ Preschool
Hi! My name is Amanda Brown and I am very excited to be a buccaneer! I have been teaching in Wake County since 2007 and have experience teaching Kindergarten and Pre-K. In addition, I taught Pre-K for two years in Niagara Falls, NY. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master’s degree in Childhood Education from Buffalo State College. Also, I am National Board Certified teacher. When I’m not at school, my family and I enjoy boating at Jordan Lake and attending hockey games!
Ms. Mayhew ~ Special Education Instructional Assistant
I am so excited to move to Raleigh and be a part of such an amazing team! I have a degree in Early Childhood and I’m currently working towards a Masters in Clinical Psychology. I spent 13 years teaching Pre-K and homebound students as well as adults with special needs in Virginia. I have spent the past 2 years working with exceptional children in Guilford County. In my limited free time I love to paint and go hiking in our beautiful NC mountains.
Mr. Wagemaker ~ English as Second Language
After Korea, I did a bit of construction work while continuing my education (construction, because I’ve always wanted to be at least a little handy around the house). I completed my ESL Master’s Degree in 2016. Then, in 2017, I started working as an ESL teacher in Wake County. My wife and I live in Apex with our two dogs, Ava and Sophie. In my free time I enjoy: keeping physically active, traveling, horticulture, learning new languages, reading, watching EPL, Bundesliga, and La Liga (in that order), and spending time with family and friends.
Ms. Magee ~ 1st Grade
Hello! My name is Sarah Magee and I am originally from Ireland. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2015 with an undergraduate Master’s degree in Primary Education. I am due to receive a postgraduate Master’s in Educational Leadership from Queen’s University Belfast in 2018. I have taught in both Scotland and Ireland, with the majority of my teaching being within the K-2 range. I look forward to delivering creative and engaging lessons which seek to meet the needs of all learners and to work with parents to provide the best learning environment for my students.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, reading, and playing the piano. I am really looking forward to my move to North Carolina and I am even more excited to become a member of the Buckhorn Creek Family!
