Chester Elementary School
2018-2019 school year is almost here!
My name is Alan Reeder and I am excited to introduce myself as Chester Elementary School's (CES) new principal. I retired from Nevada's public education system (Reno-Sparks area) in June, and wanted to move to Plumas County, where we spend our vacation time camping and enjoying this beautiful area. I have been a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal and district administrator these past 30 years. I look forward to returning to an elementary school where I can be with students and school staff. My wife Christie and I have purchased a house in Chester and are getting settled. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and friendly, from our neighbors, the school staff, the district staff and the local hardware stores! We are thankful for this opportunity to join the Chester community, and serve the elementary students. My promise is to team with this incredible staff at CES to provide an exceptional, safe, elementary educational experience for all of our students. I look forward to meeting our students and parents in the coming weeks, possibly at our Back to School night on August 22 from 6:00-7:00?
We are busy preparing for another successful school year at CES! We look forward to welcoming back our students on Wednesday, August 22 (8:15-2:40). If you need to register your child, please visit our online portal through our district website ( https://www.pcoe.k12.ca.us/). If you need assistance, feel free to visit our office between 8:00-3:30. We will also need a copy of your child's birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency (we can make the copies at school).
In the meantime, please feel free to call, email or stop by if you need any assistance as we prepare for our 2018-2019 school year.
Welcome back! We are excited for our 2018-2019 school year!
First day of school Wednesday, August 22, 2018 8:15-2:40; Back to School Night 6:00 pm
On our first few days of school we will be working hard to teach our students our rules to keep all students safe and to maximize learning. We may have some slight revisions and additional expectations so we can make sure students are safe and having productive learning days. We will have most of these rules and expectations in our student handbook which should be completed and on our website by August 22.
Following our first day of school, we want to invite all of our families to CES on Wednesday, August 22, for our Back to School Evening, starting at 6:00 pm. Please join us to learn a little more about CES and meet your child's teacher.
