It was good to see families at our Connect Day yesterday. Thank you for your support of our plans to keep everyone safe at the Red Traffic Light setting.
We are strong believers in building home - school relationships that work together to support and ensure the success of your children. This Red settings will test our ability to connect regularly in person and I encourage parents to email teachers with queries. Teachers will reply as soon as they are able during non-teaching times. They may invite you to meet with them after school hours and you can request a meeting. We ask that parents avoid popping into the team spaces in the morning.
Maths - No Problem!
On Wednesday, we held a teacher only day for teachers to receive training in a maths programme called Maths - No Problem! We are excited to be introducing this programme across our school in 2022.
Maths - No Problem is a mastery approach based on programmes developed in Singapore where Maths achievement is high. Through structured lessons, students solve problems in real world contexts while developing basic skills. The programme is structured to reduce children’s anxiety about Maths learning and encourages them to view themselves as competent learners.
Part of the lesson structure involves working in a Maths - No Problem workbook. These cost $21.50 each and will be added to your child’s account as they receive them.
We plan to provide parents with information sessions (when able) and in the first instance, I encourage you to watch the introductory video below to learn more about the programme.
Assemblies
Although whole school assemblies are unable to go ahead, teams will hold their own fortnightly assembly where they will celebrate team success and present certificates.
Emergency contacts
Please check that we have the most up to date emergency contact details for your family.
Sunsmart
Please ensure your child has a hat for term 1. Parents are encouraged to provide a sunscreen that suits your child that they can access in their school bag.
