CSA #23 Scholarships & Seeking Additional Funding for your College Education
Learn from a Scholarships Coordinator how to explore ways to research and apply for scholarships, including, but not limited to, scholarship opportunities unique to Crosby Scholars. **STUDENTS MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND IN THEIR CROSBY SCHOLARS STUDENT PORTAL**
Earning scholarship dollars can help cover the cost of college. Universities, non-profit organizations, private foundations, and individuals offer students the opportunity to compete for scholarships based on merit, academic major, and other criteria. This academy will help students to recognize legitimate funding sources.

Location: Virtual- registration for this event is required to received the event link. 24 hours before the event you will receive the link to join the virtual presentation.
This virtual presentation will require the following:

You must be able to meet all the above listed criteria to participate in this virtual academy. If you cannot meet these requirements please do not register to participate. You must log in to the presentation on time. You will receive a link and login instructions via email prior to start the virtual presentation.
Hispanic League Scholarship
- Be a high school senior or high school graduate (including GED)
- Be past of present Forsyth County, NC, English Language Learning (ELL) or classified as Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students
- Be NC residents
- Be of Hispanic/Latino origin
- Demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum 2.7 GPA
- Plan to attend or admitted to a regionally accredited college or an institution of higher education in the fall of the year the award is offered
- Must have financial need
Letter of Recommendation is Due DEC 13; Application is due DEC 18

Scholarship Starting Points
Not sure where to start when looking for scholarships or grants? Try the following options to help narrow down your search and pinpoint scholarships that are right for you.
Outside Scholarship Resources Database 20-21 lists many outside scholarships available for the 2021-22 academic year. Scholarships are conveniently organized by deadline, with specific tabs for each month.
Crosby Scholars Scholarship opportunities for Seniors will be available beginning January 2021 in the Crosby Scholars Student Portal. Check your Student Portal for more information.
We open at least 1 new scholarship per week, so check your Crosby Scholars Student Portal frequently and apply for as many as you can.
The application for Crosby Scholars Last Dollar Grant will become available in late April/Early May 2021.
College Board Opportunity Scholarships - Turn your Efforts into Scholarships! The College Board has launched a new scholarship program with $5 million of scholarships each year, beginning with the class of 2020.

CSS/FINANCIAL AID PROFILE
The College Board’s CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE® is an online application that collects information used by almost 400 colleges and scholarship programs to award financial aid from sources outside of the federal government.
If attending one of the below schools, you should complete the Fall 2021/Spring 2022 PROFILE®.
North Carolina Colleges that REQUIRE CSS PROFILE are:
- Davidson College
- Duke University
- Elon University
- UNC Chapel Hill
- Wake Forest University
Make sure your school requires the CSS Profile before you fill it out -- CSS Profile Applications are not free. It costs $25 to fill out and submit the form to one school, and an additional $16 for each additional school.
