Fly Friday is Back
What is Fly Friday?
Fly Friday has been a weekly tradition at Brock Elementary for several years. Due to COVID, we have not been able to put it in place this year. After a lot of planning and working through some obstacles we were able to host our first one! If you are new to this, Fly Friday is a time that we talk about character, celebrate our school spirit, play games as a campus, and talk about how we can positively impact our school and community. The kids love it! During this time, teachers are vertically planning and preparing for small group interventions. There are some things we are doing differently at this time to ensure safety:
- Students will attend Fly Friday every third week with their designated group.
- Students will sit with their class and wear their mask if their parent sent them in one.
- We are providing structure and space with only a third of the students in the gym at one time.
Important Information
- If there is anyone in your house that has a COVID-19 test out, please do not send your child until the results are received.
- If your child has been exposed or has tested positive for COVID 19 please contact the office so we can help get a plan for your student.
Drop Off and Start Time
- Doors will open for students at 7:15
- School Begins at 7:50- Tardies will begin next week.
- We will have lots of staff guiding students to their spots.
Pick Up and End Time
- Pick up will begin at 3:20
- Please be patient with us as we work to get things running smooth
- Please have your car tag up when coming through to pick up (Pre-K and Kinder will get theirs in the morning tomorrow)
- When picking up, we ask if you need to buckle your child, pull all the way up once your kiddo is in the car so we can keep the line moving.
Yearbooks!
This year we will have our very own yearbook at Brock Elementary!! Yearbooks are on sale for $30 until the end of December. Click on the following link to get your copy ordered today at this special discounted price!
If you would like to help us fill up our pages with pictures of Brock Elementary students, please download the following app and upload your photos. All photos need to be school appropriate and school-related. For example, group photos of students participating in sports, cheer or at a livestock show would be appreciated!

Mask Information
More on the Masks... At this time
At this time, Governor Abbott's orders state that students under the age of 10 are not required to wear a mask. We are currently following the recommendation of the governor. However, you may want to look at the flow chart when deciding. Students will be able to take their masks off when they are able to social distance. Our teachers have worked hard to create classrooms that allow students to do this. Your teacher will be reaching out to find out what your preferences are for your child. We will work to make a safe and nurturing environment for all of our kids.
