· News & Information:
o Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year: As summer rapidly draws to a close and the 2020-2021 school year approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to another exciting year at Methacton High School. At Methacton High School, we celebrate and support the special parent, student, teacher, and community partnerships that serve as the foundation of our mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment where our students can learn and grow. We are most fortunate at Methacton to be able to provide our students with an abundance of academic, athletic, expressive and instrumental arts and club and activity offerings that will expose them to the many wonders of the world. I strongly encourage our students to take full advantage of these many opportunities in an effort to make their time at the High School the foundation of a lifetime of learning. During the months ahead, we will be encouraging all of our students to make good behavior choices, to accept responsibility for their actions, and to respect all of the people that come together each day to make our great Methacton High School community the special place that it is. Please refer to the Methacton High School Student Handbook (https://www.methacton.org/cms/lib/PA50000637/Centricity/Domain/8/MHS 2020-2021_Handbook_FINAL.pdf) for the many policies and regulations that assist in providing the best order and structure to our school. Students will be asked to sign-off in acknowledgment that they have read and understood the information contained in the Handbook. A solid home-school partnership in ensuring that these procedures and policies are followed is so important and we thank you in advance for your support in fostering this continued partnership. Teachers and parents working together in the best interest of our children is the key to the success of our school. Best wishes for a wonderful 2020-2021 school year.
o Freshman/New Student Orientation: Orientation for all incoming members of the Class of 2024 and students new to MHS will take place through a virtual process. Specific information regarding accessing the virtual information will be sent out directly to parents of freshmen and new students. There will be a link to a Google site for student orientation. Parent orientation will take place via a recorded zoom that will be available to view.

o School Counselors: Counselors are available during limited hours throughout the summer to address any concerns that arise. Methacton High School counselors work closely with students to develop competencies in the areas of academics, personal/social and career development. Through individual counseling, classroom visits, and group presentations counselors help students understand their learning strengths and weaknesses, select appropriate courses, plan for the transition to college and careers, and meet personal challenges in a mature, productive way.
