Letter From Principal Hopper
Dear Parents,
This letter is to inform you that we briefly evacuated Litchfield Elementary School today. There was a strong odor of natural gas on our A+ campus that was immediately investigated by Goodyear Fire Department and Southwest Gas. The issue was quickly attributed to regular maintenance work that is currently being performed in the community by El Paso Natural Gas Company. At no time were staff or students in danger. The maintenance work is still in progress and the odor may continue beyond today.
Your child’s safety is of utmost importance to us. We are proud of our school staff members who handled this challenge with professionalism and care. We are also proud of the children who showed patience and positive attitudes. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Should you have any questions about this issue, please contact our front office at 623-535-6100 or James Pigg of El Paso Natural Gas Company at 602-438-8047.
Sabine Hopper
