Gayman Gazette
October 11th Edition - Kindness Rocks!
How would you describe Gayman to a friend?
Thank you for taking the time to complete the Gayman Parent Survey.
Over the next few Gazettes, I'll share everyone's feedback... beginning with this question, "How would you describe Gayman to a friend?" Using your answers, I created the Word Cloud pictured below. Take a peek. The larger the word - the more it was used. So, when words jump out like "friendly", "welcoming", "and "caring", I am reminded of what a wonderful place this is.
Thank you for your input!

Kindness Rocks!
You may have noticed the brightly painted rocks in front of the main office or maybe your child has told you about the Kindness Rocks project. Over the next several weeks, your child will be bringing home his or her specially painted rock.
We are asking the students to place their rocks somewhere that will brighten someone else’s life, essentially spreading kindness within our community. We are hoping that you and your child can discuss a good location for the rock that will help provide happiness, inspiration or a smile to someone who could use it. Good locations for the rocks might be in a new neighbor’s garden, given to a sick relative, placed outside the public library or a doctor’s office or hidden around town for someone to find. Feel free to share a picture of your child placing his or her rock with your child’s teacher via email. We can’t wait to see this ripple of kindness spread!
Happy Halloween!
We are getting ready for a Frightful and Delightful day!
The Halloween parade will take place at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 31st. Once again, we encourage students to select appropriate costumes for school: no knives, weapons, or violent accessories. As in previous years, Gayman students will take two laps around the school and parking lot to show off their costumes. We will use the same route as last year. Please expect to see grade level signs, announcing who is next in the parade.
All classroom parties will be later in the afternoon, beginning at 1:45 and ending at 2:45. The early ending time will allow parents to sign their children out of the classroom and depart before buses arrive. Due to specials, sixth grade students will have their party from 12:30-1:30PM, and the party for fourth grade students will take place from 1:15-2:15PM. Since Halloween is the first party of the school year, parents do not need to have their clearances for this event. However, for all future school events, parents will be asked to show their CBSD clearance card. If you have any concerns or questions about this, please contact Mrs. Carter.
Thank you for making this holiday a day to remember!
Happy Halloween!

Bucks for Books County
Are you ready to make a difference? Do you want to help spread literacy one page at a time?
If so, consider supporting the Books for Bucks County Book Donation Drive starting this week in our school. Our district and school will be collecting new books throughout the month for the United Way of Bucks County. We will have a donation box in our main office and another at the Book Fair. The new books purchased will go to the needy families and children throughout Bucks County. We have two book stores in Doylestown ready to offer a discount for any purchases made there, or you can purchase a new book at the Gayman Scholastic Book Fair for donation. We will also be collecting change at the book fair this month to purchase additional books for this program, so feel free to drop your change in the jar if you can't donate a new book.
Thank you for supporting our own communities and spreading the joy and comfort of reading, one page, one book, at a time.
