Weekly Update

November 7-11

Students have been doing amazing work and can't wait to show it off very soon. The 7th/8th Grade Band will be performing for the Veterans Day ceremony this Friday, November 11th at 9:00 am in the DMS gym. The concert uniform is black shoes, black pants, and the red band polo shirt. While only Veterans and their families are welcome to attend the event, the school will be streaming the ceremony online.

Progress reports are coming out soon. Students have until tomorrow night to make up any missing assignments. If they ever need extra help, please let me know so we can set up a time to work together.

Talon of the Week

Sofie Donham is a 6th-grader who has been rocking it on the flute. The entire 6th-grade flute section has been on fire this year and even created their own mascot named Bobby. Each week I look forward to listening to Sofie's pass-off recordings because I know she puts in the hard work to make them sound amazing. I can always depend on her to participate in class, complete her work on time, and give her best effort in whatever she is doing while at the same time having a great attitude. I can't wait to see how far she and her section will grow this year as a musicians. I am thankful to have her in our band family!
