This is important in modern day forensics because it started "lie detectors" and without lie detectors, people could lie all they want and then nobody would ever be charged with crimes such as murder. If Luigi Galvani never discovered what the nervous system emit, then we would never have any lie detectors to tell what is true and what isn't.
1784
This is important because it was the first case where forensic science was used in court to solve a murder and it really set the way and added credibility to the science in order to be used in court.

DNA is very important to the aspect of forensic science. Without it we couldn't link people to crimes they have committed. DNA has captured thousands of people and them behind bars. Without this discovery, forensic science would lack the ability to link people to crimes without any obvious physical evidence.
1967
When the FBI created this system it let law enforcement all around the country access the information to criminals. Without this center someone could commit crime around the country and escape to a new place where no one knew who they were. The NCIC allowed for officials to know who to look out for an who they could catch.
