  • Please remember to have your child at morning assembly by 7:40am. Morning assembly is a great way to start our day together as a class family.
  • Make sure to check and initial their Panther folder daily for behavior notes and school/community information.
  • Check their blue Homework folder for any assignments. Remember all homework is given Monday and due Thursday.

As readers of nonfiction, we look to text features for support. We generate "wonder lists" of topics we are curious about and begin to read about those topics. We ask questions while we read to help with understanding.

This week we review sequencing of events. Students must be able to recall and order events in a text using transition words. They will also write the steps in paragraph form.

As writers we reflect on our own work, use our personal word walls for support, and edit as needed because we write for others to read. This week we prepare our tiny moments for publication.

We focus on words containing ar. Although students are expected to master these words, applying the phonics rule will aid in their writing and reading.
