MESSAGE FROM MR. KROTT
Dear Pleasant Valley Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Summer always seems to go by fast and this year was no exception. We were very busy at Pleasant Valley over the summer months, hosting a number of summer camps for students. It was great to see so many take advantage of these opportunities and continue to broader their minds during some fun theme filled camp sessions.
A new school year brings excitement along with it and it has been great to see the smiling faces of our students as they have returned to the classroom. We are already in full swing and a lot is happening.
This month's newsletter contains information on documents sent home, private car procedures, classroom news and other important information. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Respectfully,
Kenneth Krott

Important Documents
A packet of documents was sent home with students on the first day of school. It is very important that parents/guardians review the information, fill out, sign and return these documents. We understand that there is a lot of paperwork, but these back to school documents provide us with important information and permissions for procedures that are in place. We thank you for your cooperation and attention to this task.

Safety Tips
Pleasant Valley Has a New Fish Tank
Thanks to our secretary, Sue, for making the idea of having a "school pet" a reality. The PV Fish Tank greets visitors as they enter the main office. The area will also be a place for students to learn "Fishy Facts."

Private Car Procedures
Student arrival is 9am. Dismissal begins at 3:20pm.
- Students should enter/exit the vehicle from the passenger side only. This is a safety concern, as we do not want children crossing in front of vehicles.
- Parents should stay in their vehicles while in the car line. Staff is available to assist with car doors.
- Private car tags should be displayed so staff can clearly see the name. This will allow for the line to move more quickly. If you need a car tag, please contact the office.
- DO NOT park in the lot to pick up your child at the main entrance. The main entrance is for walker and bus dismissal only. If you park, you will be asked to move to the back of the line for pick up.
Flag Football and Cheerleading
Below are interest forms for Flag Football and Cheerleading. Flag football is available for students in grades 3-5 and Cheerleading is available for students in grades 4 & 5. Forms must be completed each year. The form also includes an opportunity to indicate an interest in coaching.
Both forms are due by Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Students also received forms in school.
Free Breakfast and Lunch for All Students
All school meals (breakfast and lunch) will be FREE for ALL STUDENTS again this school year.
However, it is still important to those who may qualify for free/reduced meals to apply or update their meal application for the 2021-2022 school year. More information and applications can be found on the District website. Click the link below and scroll down to "USDA Free and Reduced Lunch - School Meals Program."
