Tribe Classic Logistics
Here are some logistics about the Tribe Classic Basketball game that is scheduled for Monday, December 18 against RNR. We are hoping to start the game as close to 9 am as possible.
· The Pep Rally will be held at 2:15 on Friday, December 15. No students will need to be pulled early to prepare for the pep rally. Classroom teachers should have students in their 6th period classes go to their lockers and put all things away prior to the pep rally AND SHOULD NOT HEAD TO THE GYM UNTIL 2:05. 6th period teachers should walk classes to the gym and sit with their classes during the pep rally in order to monitor student behavior. After the pep rally, students will be released to go to their lockers and exit the building.
· Concession bags will be sold again the morning of the game at a cost of $3.00 per student. These will be sold at the bus entrance and in the gym that morning. Students will take their snacks with them to the game. Kids will not be getting up and going to the concession at the game. That concession stand will be open but only for parents and adults.
· Related Arts teachers will be asked to cover for coaches and anyone else who has responsibilities at the Tribe Classic.
· Buses will start lining up at approximately 8:15 to start transporting our kids to and from the game. The first bus should have the varsity boys basketball team (boys game is first) cheerleaders, and dance teams. From there, we will start dismissing by grades to the bus stop.
· All IAs will be assigned to work hours that allow them to be present for the Tribe Classic. IA’s and RA teachers will be assigned to sit with classes to provide additional support for crowd management. Some IAs and RA teachers may be assigned to stand strategically near restrooms, etc.
· All teachers should sit with their classed and not congregate in other areas. Teachers need to be present to monitor student behavior and support school spirit.
· The girls play first followed by the boys game. We are hoping to be back at Sevier sometime around 12 noon to start serving lunch.
8:45 – Girls warm-ups
8:55 – National Anthem (Chorus)
8:58 – Introduction of Girls Lineups
9:05 – Begin Girls Game
9:30ish (Halftime Girls Game) – Sevier and RNR Dance team performances
10:00 (Conclusion of Girls Game) – Sparkle Squad performance
10:05 – Boys warm-ups
10:15 – Introduction of Boys Lineups
10:20 – Begin Boys Game
10:50ish (Halftime Boys Game) – Sevier and RNR Cheer team performances
11:15 – Boys game concludes, begin loading buses for return
· When students go to leave that afternoon, buses will be parked along Tribe Way (road heading up towards the Dome by the baseball field). Sevier buses will have a red sign in the window while RNR buses will have a blue sign.
· When students return to school, they will go back to their first period teacher. Bagged lunches will be provided for students to take and eat in classrooms. Times for lunches will be sent to teachers and an announcement will be made over the intercom if our time back to school throws the schedule off.
· Once we arrive back at school, the schedule for the remainder of the school day will be determined by each grade level. Related Arts teachers will be scheduled to cycle through at scheduled times during the afternoon to provide a brief planning to teachers.

News from the ASC
Guidance Regarding What Can/Cannot Be Posted During Mandated Testing
The state recently released additional guidance of resource and support items that are no longer allowed to be visible in the classroom or school during the testing sessions. The state has indicated these are things that a student should be able to recall independently. Following is a specific list provided from the state. It is not “all inclusive”, but includes examples that are prohibited. Michael Hubbard provided the test coordinators with this list and have asked them to share this now and throughout the year to ensure teachers are aware prior to testing. Please email or call Michael Hubbard with any questions, mhubbard@k12k.com or 378-2125. See Image Below...
Starting Jan. 3, 2018, Kingsport City Schools will move from the current Microsoft Outlook email/calendar/contacts provider to Google G Suite.
Ultimately, Google G Suite was selected by the TAC as the best path forward. The move (migration) from Outlook to Google G Suite will increase email/calendar functionality, provide better collaboration and availability features, and offer unlimited storage, which our current systems cannot provide. This was recommended as the most cost-effective solution for our district.
WHO: All KCS Employees.
WHAT: Outlook emails, calendars and contacts will migrate from Outlook to Google G Suite (Mail, Calendar, and Contacts).
WHEN: The migration of data has already begun and will continue through Winter Break. The last day to use Outlook will be Jan. 2, 2018. Starting Jan. 3 only Google G Suite will be used.
WHY: The move to Google G Suite will increase email/calendar functionality, provide better collaboration and availability features, and offer unlimited storage, which our current systems cannot provide.
HOW: Migrations will be ongoing until Jan. 2, 2018 via the KCS technology department.
A few key things: If you have anything on K drive or other network drives that you want saved, they need to be transferred to Google drive
IF your password for email and computer log on is few than 8 characters, you will need to change it
