What's Going On In The World Of St. Ann School

First Days of School

On Monday, August 19, doors will open at 7:30 a.m. for the first day for Kindergarten-8th Graders! You are welcome to walk your child(ren) to their classrooms. Afterward, please come over to the side yard between Fr. Mark's house and the school for some refreshments and a chance to meet and chat with other parents! Little ones who haven't started school are welcome as well.

All students should wear their full dress uniforms. If you have experienced a problem with receiving your uniforms from Schoolbelles, then your students may wear black dress pants/shorts and a plain gray or white collared shirt--no jeans, no joggers, no leggings, no cargo pants/shorts, no skinny-fit, no t-shirts, and no gym shoes that are not solid black. Black uniform pants/shorts are available inexpensively at many major retailers, like Walmart, Target, Old Navy, etc. Complete dress code including acceptable accessories can be found here on our website.

We will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. on the first day, so please be sure to send lunches with your students if they did not order hot lunch. Our regular school day this year begins at 7:55 a.m. and ends at 2:50 p.m.

Beginning on Tuesday, August 20, the P-1 doors will open every morning at 7:10 a.m., and breakfast will be served from 7:15-7:40. ALL arriving students will proceed to the School Hall every day, rather than to their classrooms, for a daily morning assembly. The P-1 doors will be locked at 7:50, so if you arrive later than that, your students will need to be delivered to the Main Office through door C-1.

Pre-K orientation will take place on Friday, August 23 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. The first full day of school for Pre-K will be Monday, August 26.

Last Chance to Order!

HSA is again sponsoring FREE spiritwear shirts for all students and faculty. You should have filled out a form with your child(ren's) sizes at registration--if not, please call the office ASAP (895-1661) to leave the information. If you'd like to order one for yourself or other family members, they are $15 each, and the extended deadline for orders/payments is the first day of school, August 19. We will be placing the order so the kids can have their shirts soon after school begins.

Virtus Training

TUESDAY, AUGUST 27, 7-10:00 p.m. in the SCHOOL HALL

All parents and guardians interested in helping our children ages 18 and under are required to undergo a VIRTUS training session in order to be a room parent, coach, Scout leader, field trip chaperone, lunch room helper, or volunteer in any other capacity with children present. You only need to take the training once, and it's recommended that all adult members of a family complete their VIRTUS training as soon as possible upon enrolling their children at St. Ann School. Register online for the August session at St. Ann's by visiting the VIRTUS Online site and clicking on Start Registration. This session will be in English only; upcoming English and Spanish nights will take place on October 17 and January 7.
