Dear Parents,

We are in the middle of a wonderful week at Walt Disney! I thank all parents and students for their support as we have transitioned to dedicated virtual classrooms. This has been a very smooth change, and we appreciate your partnership.

Within this newsletter, you will find some of our important school community building items. Information for Picture Day, the Book Fair, upcoming recess days, and conferences. These items are meant to inform.

We continue to be grateful for an active PTO. We have a PTO meeting today at 3pm. This meeting will be virtual, and to participate please Click here at that time.

As a reminder, the deadline to purchase Spirit Wear is approaching! Please click the link below and make sure your orders are in by October 24th!

Thank you to parents and students for your adherence to our safety procedures. In particular, our students are doing an outstanding job of wearing their masks throughout the day. Speaking from experience, I know that it's not easy to convince kids to where face masks, and I want you to know your efforts preparing your students prior to the start of in-person schooling are appreciated!

I also want to recognize and thank our parents of virtual learners. Attendance on our virtual learning platform has been great, and we appreciate how well students are participating in the live sessions throughout the day. We know these multiple instruction points throughout the day will create great gains for our students!

Picture Day is quickly coming, Wednesday, October 21st. For children attending school in-person, pictures will be taken during the school day as in years past.

Virtual learners may come to school to have their picture taken between the times of 2:30 and 3:30. (If this time doesn't work for you, no worries, we will have additional time slots on picture retake day).

Students attending in-person will receive a paper order form this week. (All student have their picture taken, and the order form is for the various picture packets a parent may wish...don't forget the wallet sizes for Grandma and Grandpa!)

This year's book fair will occur VIRTUALLY! This is an excellent opportunity to build up your home library, while also supporting our school. With each item sold, we receive a credit to be used to purchase books for our library (Don't worry - we also use school funds for books as well!)

Scholastic offers a wide range of books and there is something for everybody! This is a great time to sit down with your child and find those high interest materials that may jump start a renewed interest and love of reading!

- Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place November 17th through November 19th. In the coming weeks you can expect to receive communication from your child's teacher with additional information.

- Virtual materials pickup is ongoing. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions!

- Fall Break is approaching. Both October 23rd and 26th are recess days.

- PTO Meeting today at 3pm

- Election day, November 3rd, is a recess day. This is a reminder that we do not have school on that day.

- We will soon begin our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser. This year we will do the fundraiser through an online format. More info to come next week.
