Davie County was founded in 1836 and is named after Wiliiam Richardson Davie, a distinguished Revolutionary soldier. It's located in the Piedmont region. Surrounding counties include: Yadkin, Forsyth, Davidson, Rowan, and Iredell.

Pudding Ridge Golf Course is open for public use and features 18 holes that meander through the beautiful countryside. You can visit Hanes Mall, which was NC's largest Mall until 2004. You can even visit the Joel Coliseum and watch the Wake Forest's Women basketball team play.

The structure of the local government in Davie County is one of a five-member Board of Commissioners who serve a four year term. They are responsible for adopting an annual budget to operate the county departments, setting the county property tax rate, setting county policies, planning county government and development, and appointing County Manager to administer and oversee /coordinate the activities of the county departments.
