Geography
The total area of China is 9,596,961 sq km. The cooridnates of China is 35 00 N, 105 00 E.The climate in China is extremely diverse; tropical in south to subarctic in north. The landforms in China is mostly mountains, high plateaus, deserts in west; plains, deltas, and hills in east. Some natural resources are coal, iron ore, petroleum, natural gas, mercury, tin, aluminum,and lead. Some of China's natural disasters are frequent typhoons (about five per year along southern and eastern coasts); damaging floods; tsunamis; earthquakes; droughts; and land subsidence.
Culture
In China their nationality is Chinese. China's ethnic groups are Han Chinese 91.5%, Zhuang, Manchu, Hui, Miao, Uighur, Tujia, Yi, Mongol, Tibetan, Buyi, Dong, Yao, Korean, and other nationalities 8.5% (2000 census). The languages people in China speak areStandard Chinese or Mandarin (Putonghua, based on the Beijing dialect), Yue (Cantonese), Wu (Shanghainese), Minbei (Fuzhou), Minnan (Hokkien-Taiwanese), Xiang, Gan, Hakka dialects, minority languages (see Ethnic groups entry). The population in China is 1,343,239,923 (July 2012 est.). The religions in China are Daoist (Taoist),Buddhist, Christian (3%-4%), Muslim (1%-2%).
Government
China is a Communist state. The leaders of the executive branch are President HU Jintao (since 15 March 2003); Vice President XI Jinping (since 15 March 2008),Premier WEN Jiabao (since 16 March 2003); Executive Vice Premier LI Keqiang (17 March 2008), Vice Premier HUI Liangyu (since 17 March 2003).The name of the legislative branch is Quanguo Renmin Daibiao Dahui. The Judicial branch contains all the courts in the country. The Constitution was adopted on December 4,1982. The age of when people can vote is 18 years of age.
Economy
The average of money people get each year is $9,100. The agricultural products in China are rice, wheat, potatoes, corn, peanuts, tea, millet, barley, apples, cotton, oilseed; pork; and fish. The industries in China are mining and ore processing, iron, steel, aluminum, and other metals, coal; machine building; armaments; textiles and apparel; petroleum; cement; chemicals; fertilizers; consumer products, including footwear, toys, and electronics; food processing; transportation equipment, including automobiles, rail cars and locomotives, ships, and aircraft; telecommunications equipment, commercial space launch vehicles,and satellites. The industrial production growth rate is 13.9%. The import partners are Japan 11.2%, South Korea 9.3%, US 6.8%, Germany 5.3%, Australia 4.6%. The export partners are US 17.1%, Hong Kong 14.1%, Japan 7.8%, South Korea 4.4%, Germany 4%. The percent of labor force are agriculture: 36.7%,industry: 28.7%, services: 34.6%.The currency of China is renminbi.
