Math-geometry
We are learning about 2D and 3D shapes this week. We had the children build a model of the 3 dimensional shapes so that they could count the vertices (corners) and see how many edges the shape has. We are also comparing and contrasting 2 shapes.
Writing and Reading
We are continuing are unit on Poetry for both subjects. We are learning about the characters in a poem, looking for repeat patterns as well as looking for rhyming words. We are practicing what we are learning about poems to create our own poems. Mrs. Sayre set up magnetic poetry stations in the LRC for us to continue our practice.
Buddies
We played a game with our buddies using pattern blocks. We rolled the dice and each number of the dice determined which shape you needed in your pile. Once you had 10 shapes, you had to make or compose a new shape.
Top Dog
Madelyn was our top dog. Her favorite animal is a koala bear and she loves to eat tacos. She is pawsome at running and backing. She wants to be a nail technician when she grows up--I volunteered to be her first customer!
No Earl, the stripe don't make you look fat...it's the dog treats!
