Counselor Appreciation!! Thank you, Mrs. Barr and Mr. Horr!
It is national School Counselors' Week! Chancellor has been blessed with two wonderful counselors who work with our students (and parents and teachers and administrators) every single day to help our students become well-rounded and well-adjusted young people. From Career Day to circles to leadership groups to lunch buddies to contracts to check-ins to whole class lessons to parent teacher conferences- our counselors are very busy people! Take a moment this week to thank Mrs. Barr and Mr. Horr for everything they do to make Chancellor an amazing place to work, and for helping our students reach for the stars every day.

Comet of the Week Nomination goes to...Monique Ratcliff!
Mrs. Wilson has nominated Mrs. Ratcliff, 3rd grade ELA teacher, for Comet of the Week. Mrs. Wilson shared, "Mrs. Ratcliff is always so calm and collected with her class. She works hard to not only teach her students the content in the classroom, but she is teaching them how to be respectful to others. She dedicates herself to her class and to her dance team. She is a wonderful role model for our students."
Congratulations, Mrs. Ratcliff! Monique has earned a jeans pass, snack shack coupon, and the opportunity to nominate the next Comet of the Week! Show her some love on our Comet of the Week bulletin board by the workroom!
What is Growth Mindset? And why do we need it?
As educators, and as students, growth-mindset is a vital characteristic we need to develop to grow and succeed even through difficulty and adversity. It is a life-long skill that will serve our students through any situation, as well as you! Do you know how growth mindset works? Here is a short video to think about it.

Helping our students with growth mindset practice
There has to be a shift in how we talk to students to help them develop growth mindset. Here is a link with some great activities that you can enact in your classroom, and a few examples of growth mindset talk and thinking in action that you are welcome to use with your students!
