Northlake Christian Lower School

Principal's Summer Newsletter - 2016-2017

Dear Parents and Students:

How blessed I am to be called to serve and lead as the Lower School Principal of Northlake Christian School! It is with great excitement that I sending this newsletter to inform you of so many wonderful things that have been happening on campus this summer as well as to share some important things that you will need to know to begin our new 2016-2017 school year.

When folks ask me what I will be doing with all my time off this summer, I simply smile knowing that the summer, quite honestly, is our busiest time of the year as we finalize plans that we began making in February for the upcoming school year along with class lists, student and teacher schedules, making revisions, assessing curriculum, aggregating data and test scores, planning and developing Professional Development for our faculty, necessary maintenance with our technology and grounds, etc. Whew!

We are continuously acknowledging and thanking God for His favor and faithfulness. There is still a lot more work to be done, so please continue to pray for everyone involved in the transformation.

We humbly pray for God’s continued favor on our school, on our faculty, and on our vision and mission. We will continue to pray for you, your children, your families, and your homes. We ask that you join us in prayer as we begin a new season here at Northlake Christian School.

Here are a few things that you will need to know to begin your school year. We are eager to see each of you at Open House on Friday, August 5 from 9:00-11:00. For now, I remain,

Sincerely yours,

Ms. Arnold, M.Ed.

Lower School Principal

Summer Reading & Math

Did you know that on average, students lose about 2.6 months worth of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills and about 1.5 months in reading in spelling during their summer break?

As you witnessed at our annual Awards Day in May, our students have made great strides in math and reading this past school year. Let's keep up the good work with our Summer Bridge that has been developed to partner with you at home over these summer months by clicking on the links below to access what we have put in place.

Campus Work Day - August 6

A Message from Mr. Fontenot, Head of School:

As the school year is fast approaching and we are full speed ahead around here, we would like to have a campus work day on Saturday, August 6th from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm to complete a few items that are still needing to be done on campus. Most work is campus beautification such as trimming bushes and trees, raking, cleaning and fixing up gardens, etc. So bring your gloves, yard tools, and towels, and we will provide water and snacks! Let's have a great day getting ready for the 2016-17 school year. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you there.
