Questioning for ILEARN & SAT Gains
HOTS and DOK 2 & 3 Questioning in the MS/HS Math Classroom
The Southern Indiana Education Center has invited Bill Reed from INcompassing Learning back to the region to guide teachers in the everyday, practical planning of quality questioning in the classroom. This MS/HS session will be full of interactive elements for participants, such as:
- Effective teaching strategies using a variety of question types to assess and gather evidence of student thinking.
- Learning different questioning formats that gather information, probe understanding, make the mathematics visible, and ask students to reflect on and justify their reasoning.
- Planning and implementing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions.
- Planning and implementing DOK 2 and DOK 3 questions that improve the overall performance of students not only in the classroom, but on the SAT and I-LEARN assessments.
