Arroyo Seco Junior High School -- September 6, 2019
Staff Stuff
Thank you for all of your hard work in preparation for Back to School Night last night. We had a great turnout on a hot day. I enjoyed walking through classrooms and hearing the many engaging and creative presentations about all of the fantastic things happening in your classrooms!
Remember that the first progress reporting period ends next Friday, September 13 (grades due by noon on Monday the 16th).
Thank you to everyone who showed up for a late Happy Hour at Wolf Creek last night and thank you Mr Scott for being such a fantastic host. Thanks also to those who signed up for the Dodger game on the 22nd -- we have a group of 26 going! Should be lots of fun. Be sure to check the Social Activities Menu for more opportunities in the future.
Thank you for another great week at Seco and have a great weekend!

September's habit is Build Community and the disposition is Empathy
We are social beings, and we need each other to thrive. A strong, healthy community can bolster us through challenging moments and bring joy to our lives. When we build community, we can build empathy for each other; and building empathy for each other helps us build community. During the month we’re surrounded by new people, building strong relationships must be our primary goal. The community we build is foundational for our resilience. - Elena Aguilar
Community is strengthened through the little actions we can take every day. The following link is a list of 60 Ways to Build Community at School. Check it out and put a star next to those that you’ve already done or regularly do. Pick several new ones to try- schedule them on your calendar or make a do-to list so you don’t forget! to try this month, and schedule those on the calendar or someplace where you’ll remember to do them.
