CAUSES TO THE GREAT DEPRESSION

The Stock Market Crash of 1929
The Stock Market Crash of 1929 is by far the greatest cause to the Great Depression. Stockholders lost over $40 billion, and people quickly lost money themselves. Stores like GoodWill helped as many as they could, as people flocked to their stores. The market soon restored some of the losses, but that was nowhere near enough to save the country from diving into the Great Depression.
