What to Expect
By: Sam and Cheyenne
1st Trimester:
During the first trimester of your pregnancy you're going to expirience a transformation. You can't feel this type of transformation, but the inside of your body is preparing for you to have a baby. "Hormones trigger your body to begin nourishing the baby even before tests and a physical exam can confirm the pregnancy."-(mayoclinic.com) You may expirience morning sickness, increase in urination, tender/swollen breast, fatigue, dizziness, and certain food cravings. Alot of women also expirience a lot of mood swings at this stage in the pregnancy.
By twelve weeks the baby has arms, hands, fingers, feet, and toes. It is fully formed. It can open and close it's fists and its mouth. at this point it is too early in the pregnancy to determine the gender of the baby.
2nd Trimester:
The second trimester of pregnancy is often the most enjoyable state of the pregnancy. This is the stage at which your belly starts to grow, and you begin to have stretch marks. Your baby will not be large enough to crowd your abdominal organs at this point. Your physical changes will start to become noticable. This is the time you will want to start making appointments with your doctor to focus on your baby's growth.
At this point you can hear the heartbeat, and the baby seems more real. the baby begins to hear, and feel the baby kick. You can see the finger prints and foot prints. The babies hair begins to grow and can respond to your voice. Also the babies fingernails begin to develop.
3rd Trimester:
This part of your pregnancy can be the most physically and emotionally challenging for women. You may have trouble sleeping at night due to discomfort. You should try not to give up, and keep looking forward because all your effort will eventually have a beautiful baby in your home. You shouldnt be worried about any weight gain, this is normal during a pregnancy. Afterall, there is another human inside you. Also, you will urinate constantly, this is because the baby is applying alot of pressure on your bladder. A good idea would be to take a child birth class, so you will be relieved of any stress caused by pregnancy.
Dont worry because your pregnancy is almost over! The baby will start to open its eyes, and can practice breathing. The baby can also begin to detect light. The babies organs are fully ready to funtion on their own.
Parenting Advice:
As a pregnant couple, expecting a baby can be just as stressful on the father as much as it is on the mother. Be sure to comfort her in every way you can. She will probably be very emotional towards you. Just know this is a temporary condition. She will have many mood swings, this comes along with pregnancy. Be calm and help her out. It will be worth it in the long run. Its good to talk to your baby so it will recognize your voice.
