Mr. Mancuso's Doctoral Research
Hello! My name is Peter Mancuso. I am a high school teacher in the upstate and a doctoral student at North Greenville University. Your principal or supervisor has agreed to allow you to take part in my doctoral research study. Participation is completely voluntary on your part. My research is focused on the self-efficacy for medical emergency preparedness in the K-12 setting, specifically focusing on the chronic medical conditions of asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and food allergies. Self-efficacy is centered around your belief of your capabilities in performing certain tasks in these emergency scenarios. My study has two components. First, I am requesting that you complete the survey found at the link below. This survey should take no longer than 10 minutes. Once you submit the survey, you will have the option (again completely voluntary) to sign up for an interview that should take approximately 20 minutes. Thank-you for your time. Your participation will go a long way in helping understand faculty and staff beliefs on this very important topic! Here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/bavwPz62w6XFpmuf8
The Hamp Pantry Food Drive Competition
We have great news. We are about to launch of the Hamp Food Pantry. This will be a school based business (similar to "Kids in the Kitchen") designed to provide non-perishable food support for WHHS students/families. Students on the Employability pathway will conduct the day-to-day operations of the pantry to include stocking, inventory management, and processing orders.
Details:
- We will advertise to WHHS students and parents to bring in non-perishable food items to their 1st block classes.
- There would be a competition where the winning 1st Block class will receive FREE breakfast from Kids in the Kitchen.
- The Food Drive will run from Nov 6 - Nov 17 (2 weeks).
- We will advertise to the community and allow them to drop off donations as well.
- This will provide the first initial boost needed to re-stock our pantry.
- During the Food Drive, Mr. Jefferson's students will:
- track and monitor the collection in each classroom.
- transport food items from the classrooms to the front foyer to be displayed during the drive period. This will be a visual reminder of the drive and hopefully inspire visitors to give as well.
- The Hamp Food Pantry will be located in a reserved space near the ROTC Hallway.
- There will be a system by which WHHS students/parents can request support from the pantry.
- After the initial Food Drive, there will be an ongoing effort to maintain a stocked pantry.

College Applications & Schoolinks
Teachers, it’s that time of year! The counseling office recognizes the urgency to get seniors' college applications and transcripts submitted in a timely fashion. To help with this process, we have developed a guide for our seniors to maneuver through SchooLinks as they begin to complete the tasks ahead. Please use the linked flyer to share this process with your seniors. As a reminder, for all written instructions, seniors must be logged into their SchooLinks account in a separate tab. The counseling office will also host a senior parent night, college application day, as well as senior IGPs in the coming weeks. More information will be shared as we approach those dates.
For questions regarding the application process and Schoolinks, please tell seniors to first check their Senior Google Classroom postings and to reach out to their assigned counselor for help. For information regarding SchooLinks, you may contact Dr. York at lsyork@greenville.k12.sc.us. “

There are still have a few spaces available for the EPIC Learning in the 21st Century session beginning in January. Therefore, the Instructional Technology Department is still offering this course that can be used for graduate credit for Certified Staff to maintain their teaching certifications.
