Active Kids Less Likely to be Depressed Later On

Is your child(ren) getting enough physical activity? We all know that exercise is good for you and has lasting benefits, but did you know it can make depression less likely? Check out this article that discusses how research indicates that increasing physical activity in kids may prevent depression.

Babysitting Course

A five-week babysitting course being offered at Youth and Social Services for any Middle School students. This will take place on Wednesday evenings March 15th - April 19th. There is a $10 fee. See your counselor for a form.

New Haven Interdistrict Magnet Schools

The Guidance Department has the New Haven Magnet Schools 2017 school choice guides. New Haven offers 27 interdistrict and open choice school options for suburban families, each with a unique theme and culture. If you are interested in learning more about these schools, grab a guide and check out the open houses that are offered in February and March. These schools range from elementary to high school.
