COUNSELOR's CORNER
Hello from your Elementary Counselor, Mrs. McKiddy! With October being Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, we spoke with students about how to use our voice. We talked about how to support one another, how to stand up respectfully, and most importantly, how to do it in a way that makes everyone feel comfortable. Our theme of “Do Something” is carrying into the months of November and December: generosity and acts of kindness. If we can create a culture of kindness in our classrooms, our little learners are more likely to take risks, celebrate their individuality, and grow as people. To deepen this learning, create opportunities at home for spreading kindness and being generous. We know that in order to create a habit, we must create opportunities for repetition.
Let's Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed here at school.
More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!

BVA Spencer Shirt Pickup
BVA Families: If you were unable to make it Wednesday to pick up photos, shirts, and books for your student(s) and would like them prior to the December pickup date, please email Jen Lumsden. She will arrange a time for you to pick things up!
Holiday Shop
Although we are unable to offer an in-person Holiday Shop this year, the tradition lives on virtually! This year we are able to offer a virtual Holiday Shop through the same company we have used for years, Fun Services. The shopping link will be open from November 30 through midnight on December 7. Gifts will ship directly to your home. This is not a fundraiser, but an opportunity to continue one of our favorite and most popular events at Spencer. More details will follow in the next Scoop,
