STUDENTS AND CELL PHONES / SMART DEVICES
We know that staying connected to your child is an important safety feature for many families. While in school we ask that students keep all cell phones and smart devices stowed in their backpacks. This helps prevent distraction from learning.
November Students of the Month
Loveland recognizes a student of the month in each grade level and classroom. These students are nominated as a result of their effort, character, work completion, self-control, attitude towards others, citizenship, leadership, and integrity. Along with a small prize and being recognized at an all school assembly they were awarded a yard sign to display in their yard. The following are our October honorees:
Kindergarten - Isla Snyder & Aliyah Vasquez
First Grade - Evelyn Davis & Grace Sutton
Second Grade - Elijah Brummel & Ella Porter
Third Grade - Aniston Fruechtenicht & Eva Wegner
Fourth Grade - Presley Bray & Parker Johnson
Fifth Grade - Maggie Conway & Cohen Johnson
Sixth Grade - Kevin Fiamaple & Nada Nasir
From The Community Club
The Loveland Community Club invites you to help show gratitude this November for our Loveland teachers and staff with cards of thanks!
Please have your child/children write cards to show their gratitude for their classroom teacher and at least one more Loveland teacher and/or staff. Cards may be delivered to their teacher anytime before Thanksgiving.
FIRST FRIDAY SPIRIT DAY!
Each first Friday of the month is Loveland Spirit Day. On this day we all wear our Loveland logo wear or school colors, blue and white, to show our spirit. We love to show our Loveland spirit!

KEEP US FROM GETTING LOST
Please make sure to mark all jackets, coats, hats, gloves, lunchboxes, backpacks and other student items with their NAME in case they are left around the building or out at recess. This helps us get them back to the right owner.
The school has a Lost and Found that students are welcome to look through if something is missing.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL
For your child’s safety and for the safety of others, all medication, even cough drops, must be kept locked in the health office, and it must be in the original package. All medication, including cough drops, needs to be accompanied by a medication form signed by the parent or guardian, and all prescription medication forms must be signed by the doctor. Whenever possible, medication should be administered at home.
Snow Days
Nebraska winters can get tough at times. When snow accumulates and the bitter wind blows, Westside Community Schools share with parents a concern for the safety of their children. Here are a few guidelines that should help us in working together to assure the safety of students, no matter how bad the weather.
- If bad weather occurs, you will receive a phone/text message from the District either the night before or that morning.
- We will also ask the local radio and television stations to make an announcement.
- You may also call the Information Line, 402-390-2299 for information about closings.
