Missouri Music Notes

November 2016

President's Message

I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving filled with family, friends and good food. In this time of gratitude, I am thankful for all of you who share the love of music with others: by performing, by supporting other performers, by giving scholarships to budding musicians, by inviting your friends to concerts, by teaching and creating new music lovers, by continuing to practice your art.

As November comes to an end, I hope you have enjoyed some American Music during the month. Be sure to submit your club report.

Wishing you a festive December!

Founders Day

NFMC recognizes our founders in January. Not just the Founders of NFMC or Missouri FMC, but think about the pioneers of your local club! Does your club do anything to honor your founders? Why not consider having a Founders Day program. A suggested program can be found on the national website. Another great way is to donate $1 per member and make the honor roll. These donations provide funds for the Young Artist competition. If you’ve ever heard them, you will know this is a worthy cause! The report is due by March 15th. Send reports to state chair, Helen Harder and contributions to state treasurer, Duane Langley. We welcome your pictures/details on our Facebook page/group. Did you notice the 10 Missouri clubs who made the Founders Day Honor Roll on page 22 of your last Music Clubs Magazine?
